Feet and Wheels
The Forestry Commissionís Cardinham Woods is about 25 minutes drive from Hendrifton Farm. Itís a beautiful mixed woodland with waymarked trails for walkers and cyclists. Itís dog friendly and the walking trails, easy, moderate and hard, range from 1.5 to 4 miles. You can hire bikes when you are there, or you can take your own, and if you fancy it, you could try the 12km Bodmin Beast!
The Camel Trail is an 18 mile surfaced trail for walkers and cyclists along the disused railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. You can hire bikes at each location.
For a more local walk, from Hendrifton Farm you can stroll across fields and moorland to reach Golitha Falls; the opposite direction takes you to the village of Common Moor and on to Bodmin Moor; and if you follow the lane a little way you can take the footpath to Siblyback Lake. If you want circular walks on Bodmin Moor, or a choice of 229 walks in Cornwall, then I walk Cornwall is a great site to look at.
Take the train
If you fancy taking the train then you could experience some great scenic railway journeys. The Looe Valley Line takes you through wooded valleys and alongside the estuary from Liskeard to Looe. Or you could try the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway from Bodmin General Station.
